What the installer does

Windows

Delivered as an NSIS (Nullsoft) setup program (.exe) for x64.
Installs for the current user only, so administrator rights are normally not needed.
No custom silent switch is declared; winget falls back to its default for this installer type (/S).
Declared install modes: silent.
Upgrades install over the existing version.

macOS

Delivered as a ZIP archive for Intel (x64) and Apple silicon (ARM64).
Installs the app Signal.app into the Applications folder.
Requires macOS 13 or later.
The app updates itself, so it may be newer than the version Homebrew lists.
A full “zap” removal also deletes up to 5 support, cache and preference locations in your home folder.
