## macOS

### What the installer does
- Delivered as a ZIP archive for Apple silicon and Intel.
- Installs the app `Ollama.app` into the Applications folder.
- Adds the command-line tool `ollama` when installed with Homebrew.
- Requires macOS 14 or later.
- The app updates itself, so it may be newer than the version Homebrew lists.
- On uninstall, Homebrew asks the app to quit and stops background services.
- A full “zap” removal also deletes up to 6 support, cache and preference locations in your home folder.
