What the installer does

Windows

Delivered as a Windows Installer package (.msi) for x64, x86, and ARM64.
Installs for all users on the PC, which normally requires administrator rights.
No custom silent switch is declared; winget falls back to its default for this installer type (/quiet /norestart).
Registers the http:// and https:// link protocol.
Associates with the file types .crx, .htm, .html, .pdf, and .url.
Minimum Windows version: 10.0.17763.0.

macOS

Delivered as a disk image (.dmg) for Apple silicon and Intel.
Installs the app Microsoft Edge.app into the Applications folder.
Requires macOS 13 or later.
The app updates itself, so it may be newer than the version Homebrew lists.
On uninstall, Homebrew asks the app to quit and stops background services.
A full “zap” removal also deletes up to 18 support, cache and preference locations in your home folder.
