What the installer does
Windows
- Delivered as a portable program that runs without being installed for x64.
- Installs for all users on the PC, which normally requires administrator rights.
- The installer asks Windows for administrator rights itself.
- Supports unattended install with
/quiet. - Declared install modes: interactive and silent.
- Needs this winget package first:
Microsoft.VCRedist.2015+.x64. - Upgrades install over the existing version.
macOS
- Delivered as a ZIP archive for Apple silicon and Intel.
- Includes an installer step that the cask hands over to the vendor’s own setup program.
- The app updates itself, so it may be newer than the version Homebrew lists.
- On uninstall, Homebrew asks the app to quit, stops background services, forgets installer package receipts, and deletes 4 extra files.
- A full “zap” removal also deletes up to 13 support, cache and preference locations in your home folder.
- The cask does not pin a checksum for this download (an unversioned URL), so the file can change without notice.
Homebrew note shown after install: You must reboot for the installation of logi-options+ to take effect.
