What the installer does

Windows

Delivered as a standalone setup program (.exe) for x64 and ARM64 and a Windows Installer package built with WiX (.msi) for x64.
Offers both a per-user and an all-users installer.
Supports unattended install with --silent.
Declared install modes: interactive and silent.
Registers the figma:// link protocol.
Associates with the file type .fig.
Upgrades install over the existing version.

macOS

Delivered as a ZIP archive for Intel (x64) and Apple silicon (ARM64).
Installs the app Figma.app into the Applications folder.
The app updates itself, so it may be newer than the version Homebrew lists.
On uninstall, Homebrew asks the app to quit and stops background services.
A full “zap” removal also deletes up to 10 support, cache and preference locations in your home folder.
